Hey there!! My name is Reese and your reading my first blog post!!
Why I started this blog? I love reading horse blogs! I love knowing their are other horse crazy equestrians like me: who mess up to, who sneak their pony treats, who break a sweat just hauling hay! Reading horse blogs has really opened my eyes to how other people care for their horse. I was surprised at how many people board their horses. This shouldn’t have been a shock really, but growing up on a farm, grass and fields are all around! I never thought about having to leave my home to see my horse. For the most part I stayed in my little circle of western horse gals. As I entered the world of horse blogs, my equine knowledge began to grow, which inspired me to start my own blog to share my experiences and to connect with other horse obsessed gals.
I have a special appreciation for the equestrians who keep their horse(s) on their own property. Because even with all its perks, caring for horses is a lot of work. We have to do most of everything ourselves. When its like 0 degrees outside we are breaking the ice in our horses water bucket, or fixing a broken fence in the heat of summer. (*can anyone relate?*) It’s all worth it though! But everyone can use some help and encouragement no matter where your horse stays or which discipline you do. That’s why I started this blog: to help and uplift other equestrians, like me, by blogging about my personal experiences, things I have researched, and by creating a community of horse lovers!
(*Which you can be apart of by subscribing!*)
- I would also like to give a HUGE thanks to all the bloggers out their who in various ways have pushed and prompted me to start this blog! This especially wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Tracy from the Printable Pony, whose blog I highly recommend!
Why call my blog “Horses of the Ozark HIlls?”
So we have already established my name is Reese and that I obviously love horses! And I bet you can guess where I live…the Ozarks! That’s right, I am a southern Missouri gal. One of my favorite things to do is go on a trail ride through the Ozark hills and woods on a trusted horse with my family riding right behind me. That’s what I love: horses, outdoors, and my family/friends. That’s the why behind the name! And that’s what this blog will be about. The journey of a normal teenage girl and her horses of the Ozark Hills! So subscribe and join me on my horse filled, trail riding, usually messy, but always fun adventure!
Tails & trails,
Reese

I love reading your blogs and, although I no longer own one, love horses too!!
So glad you enjoy reading my posts!! Thanks
What a worthwhile endeavor to share all this with the world.
Some people will share your efforts, the rest of us appreciate your efforts and rewards
Howdy! Thanks for commenting on my blog. I followed the link that was above your comment next to your name, and here I am! I noticed the photo of you and your horse, Max. Is he a Missouri Fox Trotter? My horse, Shiloh, is an MFT who was bred and born in Missouri.
Hey! I am so glad you checked out my blog! I really enjoy reading your posts, and what a cool name for your blog!
So I am not sure on Max’s breed, but I also thought he looked like a MFT! He came with a farm my parents bought, and his owner didn’t know his breed.
That is a neat story about how Max came into your life! One of my favorite horses was a gaited pony of unknown breed origins named Pumpkin Spice. I was told that he came through an auction a couple of owners before me after being plucked from a kill buyer’s pen. So many great horses keep their origins a secret. Like Max and Pumpkin Spice, I bet they’d have some interesting stories to tell if they could speak language. The stories would make for some fascinating blog posts!
They sure would!! Keeping their stories a mystery is just something else that makes these horses so very special!? P.S. Pumpkin Spice is such a cool name for a horse!
I like that idea- horses with mysterious pasts! Sounds like the making of a novel. And thanks for the compliments on the horse name. His previous people called him Spice, but when I registered him as an American Gaited Pony, I wanted him to have a fancy name. Fall is my favorite time of year so I couldn’t resist the name “Pumpkin Spice”.
Ꮃoah! Ӏ’m really loving the template/theme of this blog.
Ιt’ѕ simple, үet effective. A lot of times it’s harԀ to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and
visual appearance. I must say you have done a superƄ job with this.
