A Horsey Christmas Gift

Do you get your horse a Christmas gift?? I usually make my horses homemade peppermint flavored treats for Christmas. But there are numerous gift suggestions & ideas out there, like giving your horse the day off or getting them a new stable toy!

Rosemary & Jasmine with their new halters!

This is the first Christmas I will be spending with my Haflingers so I wanted to get them something they, as well as myself, would really appreciate. Which is why I purchased new halters for Rosemary and Jasmine. Christmas came early for my girls as I already gave them their matching burgundy halters! Rosemary was wearing a halter for a normal sized horse that was too big on her and Jasmine’s pony sized halter was too small on her. So I figured they would enjoy a well fitting halter. The halters are identical, matching just like they are, except for the engraving on the name-plate. They are cob sized and fit very nicely. I ordered them from Starfish Farms and am very pleased with my order that arrived just before Christmas!

I think that Rosemary and Jasmine liked them to! Working with these girls almost every day, I have really gotten to know their personalities, and I have really gotten to love them & appreciate their hard work. They have not pulled a carriage yet, but we are making progress every day! I had hoped they would be ready before Christmas, but learning to drive is no small feat! I am taking some extra time to really get my girls good at ground driving before hooking them up to a buggy. *You probably noticed the “Pine Meadows Venue” on their halter’s name-plate. This is the name of my parents wedding & events venue business. I recently designed and published the Pine Meadows Venue website, it was a labor of love and hard work. Be sure to hop on over there and check it out! I am very excited for our up & coming family business! Be sure to read my post about “Why We Started Pine Meadows Venue?” If you follow this blog, you might be wondering about how the Stables are going. Well they are coming along & I can’t wait to show you guys the almost finished project! But I’ll save that for another blog post!*

My super duper cute girl!!

I will still be making peppermint treats for my other horsies! However, I am very curious as to if you other horse owners (or pet owners!) do anything special for your fur friends for Christmas?? Please let me know in the comments!

Merry Christmas &

  1. So much happening for you this year, Reese. The new Haflingers (with their new spiffy halters!), new barn, a new family business venture (looks like I’m not the only person who has been putting together websites recently!) and the team up with the My Happy Riding Lesson Binder (I will have to check that out next!). If nothing else, it certainly gives you lots to write about, yes? 🙂 I am looking forward to continuing to follow your blog in 2021!
